Applications of ESG safety glass:
Due to the thermal hardening, toughened safety glass has greater thermal shock resistance and better stability with higher bending, impact and impact resistance than conventional glass. Therefore, ESG is suitable for use both indoors and outdoors. ESG can be used for glass doors, shower cubicles, partitions, railings and glass furniture. Also as a component for outdoor architecture, ESG is to be used, e.g. as facade cladding, glass canopies, balcony glazing and more.
ESG can also be further processed into laminated safety glass.
Formation of ESG glass:
ESG is created by a special heat treatment, the preload, in which the outer glass surfaces are under compressive stress. By sudden cooling, the actual core is under tension. Both tensions must balance each other out. This heat treatment makes ESG more impact resistant and safer than float glass.
Safety at ESG glass:
ESG clear is transparent and can be supplied with cut edges or with polished edges in different thicknesses and sizes. Destruction of the stress ratio of the ESG glass can lead to breakage due to overloading. In the process, ESG disintegrates as a whole disk into small pieces that are loosely connected, which reduces the possibility of injury.
